DESIGN for lot 4 - $6,797,000

The design of this home takes inspiration from the rails that skirt the edge of the Canyon Pines development.  The massing of the home is expressed by volumes of space-separated skylights and glass walls that dissolve and create the essence of passing trains.

The modern aesthetic of the home features a limestone exterior punctuated by steel accents. The natural materials speak to the surroundings and character of the site.

Arriving homeowners and guests enter through an oversized pivot door and are greeted by a grand entrance hall that is highlighted by a two-story stone wall and stair that leads to the lower level.  The interior finishes are composed of Limestone, walnut paneling, and polished concrete floors.  Natural light penetrates deep into the space through the skylights that run the length of the home.

People choose to live in Colorado and are largely drawn here for their love of nature and the outdoors.  The design of this home seeks to foster that connection through the large expanses of glass that can open wide and seamlessly connect the interior to the generous outdoor spaces.

About Elemental Homes: Elemental Homes specializes in crafting high-quality luxury homes that are created with a focus on modern style, beauty, comfort, and sustainability.  Their homes are built to last and designed to create healthy environments that remain energy efficient throughout their lifetime.  They are happy to discuss how they can add your personality to this home and make it yours.

Design by Follow Architecture – Lot 56

The bedroom courtyard of Follow Architecture's available lot 56 home rendering, made for Canyon Pines in Arvada, CO

Cabin Style

Design by Follow Architecture

Design for Lot 56

Located on gently sloping property at the base of Coal Creek Canyon, the Canyon Pines House nestles into the pine forest, providing a feeling of seclusion. The house is divided into several structures and positioned along the slope to capture private courtyard spaces that create an inward focused connection with the forest. A central glass hall organizes the structures and courtyards as they alternate on each side of the axis, creating a contrast of open and enclosed as the corridor descends the hillside.

The gabled forms are reminiscent of modest mining buildings from the 1800’s found throughout the region. The structures are composed of exposed douglas fir timber frames and clad with wood siding and corrugated metal roofs. Large panes of glass express the repetition of the timber structure and provide a seamless relationship with the intimate outdoor spaces.

Inside the home, a singular material palate is used to further reinforce the modesty of the forms. The interior spaces are clad in vertical fir planks and oak floors, providing a warm atmosphere to experience the dappled light of the surrounding forest.

The 4,650 sf base design includes 3 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a large flex space, & 2-car garage. The plan allows for expansion up to 5 bedrooms, plus additional flex space, and a courtyard pool.

Design by MHK – Lot 68

Design by MHK

MODERN STYLE

This design has been created for Lot 68 located at the end of Milner Road which offers a larger building envelope and gentler terrain.

Pricing for Lot 68 is available upon request.

Situated on Lot 68, this home was designed to be a jewel box at the entry to Canyon Pines. The open lot & gently sloping topography lent itself to a design that could take advantage of the sweeping views to the east, south and west while nestling into the foothills on the north. The home gradually steps up towards the back of the lot, working with the contours of the site, while keeping its profile low to enhance privacy for the homeowner. Without neighbors to the south or west, this home had a unique opportunity to provide a luxurious outdoor pool, taking advantage of ample sunlight while maintaining privacy and views.

The use of stone, steel, and glass imparts sophistication while responding to the natural beauty of the surrounding valley. Boasting five bedrooms and six and a half baths, along with coveted amenities like a home theater, office space, wine cellar, whiskey lounge, gym, and spa, this home is the epitome of luxury living. The open kitchen, living and dining room blend seamlessly with the outdoors and blurs the lines between interior and exterior. The result is an airy, light-filled home, nestled in nature and rooted to its place.

The interior is inspired by the surrounding topography and reimagined through an urban lens. TruDesign’s vision is grounded in inviting the outdoors in; the material use, and color palette echo the hues and textures found in nature. It incorporates unexpected and striking elements – the fireplace acts as an anchor for the design, juxtaposing the angular lines of the home with a silhouette reminiscent of rippling water. The floating ceiling, with light softly filtering from above, evokes the sensation of sunlight streaming through a forest canopy, offering a gentle, diffused illumination that invites relaxation and wellness. The natural wood elements are complemented by the stone flooring and the emerald waterfall countertop – resembling the beauty and rich diversity within the earth’s layers.

The show-stopping whiskey room blends urban sophistication and natural elements to create a striking, moody space.  The wood-slatted wall leaves you feeling tucked into a forest glen while the playful wall tile showcases natural granite and marble. From the leather seating to the beetle-inspired area rug, this room is dramatic and unexpected while remaining tied to the warmth of nature.

This interior embodies the luxury of nature within a modern context, seamlessly merging the excitement of urban life in Denver with the tranquility of the foothills. It’s a space that reflects the best of both worlds, offering a retreat that feels both modern and connected to the natural environment.

Lot 62

Tucked away into the pines, this lot has a unique boulder feature where you can enjoy views of the city lights and Coal Creek Canyon.

Located on the south side of the lot, the boulder serves as the perfect viewpoint to watch a nightly show of sunsets situated on the mountaintops of Blue Mountain Preserve Open Space.

This lot offers two possible addresses depending on where the driveway is located.

The design is not included in the lot price.

About the design: Tree House is designed to nestle into the heavily forested hillside. The existing lot is filled with many mature pine trees and an impressively massive table-like boulder that is prominently featured at the bottom edge of the slope. The primary motive for the 6,000 square foot building is to translate the experience of visiting an untouched site into a design that sensitively inhabits that very site.

The approach to the home starts with access from the uphill Milner Drive and quickly meanders downwards to the entry. The zig-zag plan is inspired by the fallen branches that smatter the site. The organizing design feature of the home is a main hallway which cuts diagonally across the plan, with groups of rooms branching off along its length. There are split levels for each of the two floors, which step downward to maintain a close connection to the landscape beyond the walls. Oversized openings and dramatically cantilevered roofs expose living conditions that jut outward from between the trees, like a pine bough reaching out for sunlight. Four bedrooms are distributed amongst the arrangement of volumes, with the Owner’s suite perched highest of all, overlooking the lower house below and towards the magnificent views beyond.

The design for Tree House intends for the home to live like its own forested setting: balancing the privacy provided by the dense trees with the panoramas available when emerging through the canopy.
